Koinus does not connect to your bank. You choose what to scan or select. The current scanner reads your document on your device and saves only the budget entries you confirm.

What you may send

Photos of paid receipts and bills; screenshots of activity from a bank or card app; statement files in PDF, CSV, or OFX form; paystubs and checks; bank texts or emailed receipts that you paste; and files or text you share into Koinus from another app.

What we take from it

The payee, the amount, and the date, and a category when we can identify one. That is the only information we keep from the file. You review and confirm each line before it is added to your books. Charges that are already logged are skipped. Payments posted back to a card (for example Autopay or “Thank You”) are skipped as well.

What happens to the file

The file is read on your device to extract payee, amount, and date. Koinus releases its temporary source files and raw text when reading finishes or you cancel. The scanner does not write them to device storage, add them to your camera roll, upload them to our servers, share them, or send them to an AI service. The server refuses scan document uploads. A file shared from another app waits only in temporary memory and expires after 60 seconds if it is not picked up. If interrupted, choose the file again in Scan.

This does not delete the original file on your phone, in email, or in cloud storage. Cleanup releases memory and clears buffers where possible; it does not guarantee physical erasure from browser or operating-system memory. Only the budget entries you confirm are saved.

Protection of information

Your confirmed entries are synced to your household over HTTPS. Cancelling a scan discards its temporary review data. Review merchant names, dates, amounts, and categories before saving. Uncertain values need correction; refunds should be recorded against the original expense.

Subscriptions

This version does not accept new purchases. If you already subscribe, Apple or Google processes the payment. We do not receive your card number. We retain only the plan you selected and whether it is active. You may cancel at any time in your Apple or Google account settings. See Support for the taps.

Optional use

Scan is optional. You may enter income or expenses by hand. You may export or delete your books at any time in Settings. See also Privacy and Terms.
